Job Description

The Graduate Counseling Program Work-Study Assistant provides general administrative and program support to Counseling and Related Programs. This position assists program leadership and faculty with routine organizational, documentation, accreditation, and office-related tasks.

The position is administrative in nature. Duties will be assigned with consideration of the employee's status as a current graduate student and will not include teaching, grading, student evaluation, or other responsibilities that could create an academic or ethical conflict of interest.

Responsibilities may vary depending on program needs and may include:

  • Assist with general record keeping and organization of program files and documents.
  • Locate, organize, and compile documents and supporting evidence for the CACREP self-study and other accreditation activities.
  • Assist with organizing syllabi, program materials, assessment documentation, meeting records, and related materials.
  • Support basic data organization and tracking for program operations, assessment, and accreditation.
  • Maintain and organize shared electronic files and folders.
  • Assist with document preparation, formatting, filing, and other routine administrative tasks.
  • Provide general remote office support to program leadership and faculty.
  • Assist with special projects related to program operations, accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other appropriate administrative duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Be enrolled as a graduate student in a counseling or counseling related program and eligible for work-study employment.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Be comfortable working with electronic documents, shared drives, spreadsheets, and common office technology.
  • Be dependable and able to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Communicate professionally with faculty, staff, and program leadership.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality when working with program records and information.
  • Be able to manage approximately 10 hours of work per week while maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
