Job Summary

The Student Wellness Ambassador position supports the mission of the Wellness department and is an integral part of a team that is committed to leading wellbeing initiatives that support students, staff, and faculty of Prescott College. This position supports planning, development, and implementation of public health strategies designed to address health and wellness priorities and further access to these resources at the Institution.

Student Engagement

  • Create and coordinate wellness sponsored events/programs for the on campus and online student populations. 

  • Serve as a departmental representative for outreach events the department coordinates and participates in throughout the academic year. 

  • Support the advertising and messaging for events and programs through the creation and distribution of marketing materials. 

  • Manage online programs including wellness check in emails, midpoint motivation check ins, and coordinate evaluation efforts for programs.

Community Building

  • Build and maintain relationships with local community organizations that support wellness initiatives on-campus. 

  • Assess the needs of the various student populations (online and in-person) to determine how to best support their wellness goals. 

  • Connect students with local and global resources to encourage collaboration and accountability support. 

Administrative Tasks

  • Supports the organization and stocking of the food pantry including the maintenance of the weekly logs.

  • Supports the restocking efforts of the restroom Aunt Flow products across campus. 

  • Assist guests with their needs, as they visit Alder (Wellness hub).

  • Maintain fliers/displays across campus for the Wellness department, ensuring proper signage is displayed for upcoming events and programs. 

Other

  • Research content for health promotion and wellness prevention efforts and events.

  • Explore new creative ways to offer wellness support to the college community.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

The Wellness department functions as a team within student affairs, so student wellness ambassadors may be asked to support staff within other departments. The director of student wellness will be the direct supervisor and will work closely with the student wellness ambassador to guide day-to-day duties to feel fully supported in their role.

 
Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

To be eligible for the Student Wellness Ambassador position, applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in at least 12 credits at Prescott College each term.

  • Be an undergraduate student for the academic year in which they are applying.

  • Maintain good academic and disciplinary standing with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.

  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals and groups.

  • Approach each task with a positive attitude.

  • Maintain a willingness to learn and develop throughout the academic year. 

  • Be enthusiastic about fostering a strong sense of wellbeing amongst peers.
