Job Description

Students working as a Student Activites & Lounge Team Member supports the Student Engagement and Leadership Coordinator in facilitating engaging activities as part of the Student Activities Team for students on-campus. This position calls for physical and office tasks to make sure the Student Lounge and its associated activities function at full capacity. 

 

The Student Activities & Lounge Team Member is responsible for the accessibility, function, and flow of the student activities programming. Duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Creation, coordination and execution of student activities

  • Office tasks necessary for up to date records and center cleanliness

  • Assisting with technology

  • Assisting with equipment

  • Cleaning, transporting, and maintaining items and setting up equipment 

  • Organizing furniture and rooms.

 

Reporting to the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership, Student Activities Team Members may be asked to support with additional initiatives such as community strategizing efforts ranging from community partnership relations to food security matters. Student Activities Team Members are expected to close the Student Activities Center twice a week, and participate in a team-wide weekend rotation for closing the center on the weekends.

Qualifications for Position

  1. Enrolled full-time at Prescott Colege

  2. Good academic standing, disciplinary and financial standing during the time of appointment

  3. Have the ability to work with individuals and groups

  4. Have the ability to carry out the role of an Activities Leader in a positive and developmental manner

  5. Demonstrate open-mindedness, enthusiasm, and optimism

  6. Be available and present on campus to engage residents

  7. Demonstrate the ability to work independently with self-initiative, keeping in mind that you are part of a team

  8. Must have a minimum of 10-15 available hours between 8 am to 12 am, Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend hours may be required.

  9. Express interest in helping others and in developing leadership skills

  10. Preferred Workstudy

  11. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

  12. Maintain professional relationships with the ability to represent Prescott College positively at all times

  13. Make a commitment to work as a Prescott College Student Worker for at least one (academic) semester
