The Student Union Board is comprised of four student positions. The SUB Advisor is a staff/faculty position determined by the institution (presently Erin Collins). The Student Union Board members shall serve on the board for a max of 1 academic year, after which period the student will have to run again. Section 2: Offices 1. Student Trustee/President (presently Julia Bricker) 2. Communication & Records Chair 3. Student Advocacy & Outreach Chair 4. Funding Chair 5. Initiative Chair Article IV. Powers and Duties Section 1: Duties & Responsibilities 1. The Student Union Board is responsible for management and dispersal of the budget created by the On-Campus Undergraduate Student Activity Fee, mainly overseen by the Funding Chair. Decisions about how money should be spent should take into account the interests of the overall student body. 2. The SUB will meet every week in a private session to plan for community meetings, current projects, and conduct voting business. 3. SUB will attend weekly Student Engagement Fairs on Wednesdays to be openly available for students' concerns, interests, and community updates. The Initiative Chair is excluded from this every other week to prioritize office hours, creating the Student Engagement monthly newsletters. 4. The SUB supports student club or gathering efforts and helps where needed. 5. The SUB is authorized to sponsor events proposed by members of the Prescott College student body, within law and Prescott College policy. 6. Conducting elections for the Student Union Board, which are held the second to last week of school each semester or as needed to fill vacant seats (beginning May of 2026 or earlier if needed). 7. The SUB will be present and involved in the New Student Orientation to welcome students to the Student Union, visit classes, present at activities fairs, and foster involvement in student life at Prescott College. 8. The SUB is authorized to fundraise in cooperation with the Prescott College Development Office. Section 2: Expectations SUB members are to be active participants in the Prescott College community. SUB members will be in good academic standing. SUB members must be available to field questions and concerns from the student body. SUB members will participate in daily and weekly tasks that will be rotated amongst SUB members including but not limited to, facilitating meetings, and managing the SUB email account. SUB members are expected to attempt to notify the SUB prior to missing a meeting, preferably 24 hours in advance. SUB members will miss no more than 3 meetings throughout the course of the semester. SUB members are expected to attend for the full duration of their assigned office hours. SUB appointments are per term. If a SUB member cannot perform their duties during block due to a field course they will not be paid during this time.
