Job Description

The Advising and Learning Commons offers writing coaching as a free service available to all Prescott College students, designed to help students progress towards academic success. Peer-writing coaches will hold half-hour, face-to-face and/or online conferences with undergraduate students to assist them with development, organization, voice, and mechanics in the context of a variety of writing tasks. Peer-writing coaches write a summary and assessment of each conference; they also collaborate in establishing and maintaining the Center's objectives and procedures, and conduct outreach workshops as the need arises.

Job Requirements

Candidates for positions must participate in an interview, and must meet the following qualifications:

  • Strong expository, academic writing skills as demonstrated by a 5-10 page writing sample

  • A willingness to learn and apply best practices in tutoring in all writing conferences

  • Demonstrated experience with teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or coaching
