This position is primarily focused on campus food gardens & composting system management, but will include outreach, activities and teamwork with the GMC Center for Sustainability projects and events. Position duties include overall care of the campus vegetable & herb gardens (duties vary seasonally), poultry care, collecting food waste & recycling around campus, maintaining compost piles, waste audits, and affiliated campus sustainability projects (such as harvest distribution). Peer leadership skills are critical as workers are managers of people (co-workers, student volunteers, clubs, classes), as well as serving as environmental educators and ambassadors of Prescott College's campus food gardens. If you're excited about growing dietary diversity, caring for plants, animals & soil, food access for students, and enhancing soil fertility by cycling campus food waste to enrich our urban gardens' growing capacity, and you are able to spend 7-10 hours weekly, including a mandatory staff team meeting, from August-December and January through June, please apply! |
